British Triathlon Level 3

In 2016 I qualified as a Level 3 British Triathlon coach, the top level of coaching they offer.  Six weekends of training at the home of British Triathlon in Loughborough.  This achievement is something that I'll always be incredibly proud of.

VDOT Distance Running Coach

VDOT O2 was developed by Dr Jack Daniels a true running legend named as the "Worlds best Running Coach" by Runners World magazine.  In addition to qualifying, I've also been very fortunate to meet, train and learn from Dr Jack himself.  I've developed his running formula specifically for triathlon.

SwimSmooth Coaching Course

In 2012, I successfully completed the 3 day SwimSmooth training course for coaches.  SwimSmooth are the Gold standard of swim training for triathlon.  We perfected skills to identify and fix swim technique, perform effective video analysis and learnt how to set up and manage a swim squad of triathletes.

Run Technique Instructor

Running technique is something I'm incredibly passionate about.  There's a crazy stat that about 82% of all runners are injured.  We shouldn't accept this and through practising specific drills to improve run technique, this can be avoided.

Kinetic Revolution

The "Functional Running Assessment & Gait Re-Education" course I took with Kinetic Revolution taught us how to assess a runners mobility and strength of key running muscles which is vital to staying injury free and eventually running fast without getting injured.

Long Term Athlete Development

This course back in 2012 really shaped my coaching philosophy.  At its core was to get people enjoying what they do so they'll stick with it.  You can focus on performance along the journey, but you should always enjoy what you do!

Oxford Tri Club Head Coach

I am very proud to have been the Head Coach of the Oxford Tri Club.  Leading a team of approx 15 coaches, we successfully delivered over 300 club sessions in a single year.  We also ran a series of open water skills sessions, bike maintenance and beginners welcome sessions.

National Rescue Award for Swim Teachers and Coaches

NRASTC is a supervision and rescue qualification for coaches working on the poolside or in the water.  Thankfully, I've not yet been required to rescue anyone from the water, but it feels great being qualified to do so if ever required.
